Who can refer a child/young adult for a dream adventure? The child or young adult themselves, a parent or legal guardian, friends or family members, Medical professionals or social workers are all able to make a referral for a dream adventure. Each candidate must submit an application signed by a parent or legal guardian. Click on the following link to complete application.
If you are wanting to refer a child or young adult, contact Dream Pursuit and provide us with the name and contact information for the referral and we will then make contact with their parent or legal guardian. You may also have the child’s or young adult’s parent/legal guardian contact us.
How does a child or young adult qualify for a dream adventure? The child’s or young adult’s attending physician must make the determination of whether the child or young adult has a physician certified life-threatening disease. The child or young adult must also complete an application for a dream adventure.
What types of outdoor adventures are provided? Dream adventures are only “hunting and fishing adventures.” We do not provide other types of “outdoor” activities. The child’s or young adult’s physician must determine whether the child’s or young adult’s condition will allow them to participate in certain types of adventures.
Are there any age limits for a dream adventure? Yes, there are certain limitations based upon the type of hunting or fishing adventure and the laws that apply to that adventure. Children must be at least 6 years old to fish and 8 years old to hunt.
– To participate in a “big game” hunt, such as elk, moose, caribou, bear and other “big game” species, the participant must be at least 12 years of age. This is due to the minimum age requirements that exist in many states and provinces for hunting.
– To participate in an off-shore fishing adventure, the participant must be at least 10 years of age. There are many things to take into account when considering this type of adventure. Although these adventures look appealing when seen on television, they can be very tiring and very strenuous. In most cases, once the boat is a certain distance from the docking area, there is no returning to shore or stopping in “calm water” to take a break. There is a strong possibility that the participant, parent or guardian will experience motion sickness (sea sickness) and it can be very tough on the participants and family members.
Are there any costs associated with a dream adventure? It is our intent to cover ALL of the expenses associated with the dream adventure for the participant, guardian or family members (parents and siblings still living at home). All expenses are fully covered by Dream Pursuit including travel, meals, lodging, license, fees, taxidermy costs, etc. We want the dream adventure to be a memorable and fulfilling experience for everyone without the worry of any costs or expenses.
How to contribute: Making a dream adventure come true requires many different types of contributions and on many different levels. Some of the ways that you can partner with Dream Pursuit are monetary contributions, in-kind contributions (providing goods or services) or by volunteering with your time.
Each type of contribution is important to the success of this organization. Whether you want to make a one-time donation, an honorary or memorial gift, a monthly commitment, donate goods or services or sponsor multiple adventures, Dream Pursuit has recognition levels for contributions of every type and size.

If you are making a monetary contribution, please click on the monetary donation tab and you can make your contribution via a secure Paypal link that goes directly into our Paypal account.
If I am a land/property owner, can a child/young adult hunt or fish on my property? Due to their experience in accommodating larger groups and having the personnel and accommodations to handle other requirements, the majority of our hunting and fishing adventures are hosted by professional outfitters, lodges and charter services. However, there are times when we can utilize private property, provided that the opportunities they offer can meet the desires or any special needs of the participant. If you would like to contribute your services, please feel free to contact us at 573-421-5580 or click on the Taxidermy Donation tab, fill out the form and send it to us on line.
One concern of using private property/land is the issue of liability. In most instances, this one issue could potentially eliminate the use of private property/lands especially if they are not insured and are not able to provide the level of service normally required on dream adventures. In most cases, private property/land owners do not have facilities to provide lodging, meals and other types of activities that would help in making the adventure more of an “all-inclusive” type of atmosphere that we seek to provide on our adventures. Every effort is made to insure that every dream adventure is a memorable experience for everyone involved.
Is my contribution tax deductible? Dream Pursuit, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Should you have any questions about deductions and your personal tax situation, we suggest that you consult your personal accountant.
